“The most beautiful moments always seemed to accelerate and slip beyond one’s grasp just when you want to hold onto them for as long as possible.”
― E.A. Bucchianeri,
Brushstrokes of a Gadfly,

Amal is not a name or an institute with which I have been associated for three months, but this will be going to be a lifelong thing that I will carry with me, reminiscing over some beautiful memories that I made over here in such a short span.

It still feels like yesterday, when I was filling out the form and going through the application process, and at almost every step wasn’t sure if I would make it through these three months or not. But here I am writing this blog and reflecting on my journey of Amal Fellowship.

One of the main reasons for joining Amal is that I always felt like I need some from a friend or acquaintance at a new place to survive or learn; otherwise, I won’t make it on my own at a place full of strangers. Another was to focus on my skills and know more precisely about my areas of strength and weaknesses.

As we all know, I somehow managed to survive where I didn’t know about any member before, and in fact, I made some new friends over here. This thing has been my most significant achievement of the fellowship journey that made me realize I don’t need old friends when I can make new ones. As far as my areas of improvement are concerned, In Amal, I got a chance to know about myself more clearly, like seeing myself ina clear mirror, which has been blurred for a while with all tensions and chaos. Through ‘Knowing Yourself’ and about my SMART Goals and WHY’s, I got a chance to know myself better. Even when I connected dots from the past of my life journey, it somehow started to make sense.

Then comes in Amal principle of progress, which I promise myself to live with while practicing them, i.e., Khudi (one of my favorite), Amal, one or 1= 11, Kam Kam Kam. Not only principles but also other things have changed my way of thinking, i.e., Living purpose of life, life map, MVTP, Kindness, Gratitude, Problem-solving through design thinking, Being productive, Passenger series, Networking, and Positive thinking. These are some of the significant highlighted courses which have helped me gain a new perspective.

Apart from it, I had the best time of my life, and I thank myself for not missing this opportunity. I will miss waking up early on weekends and that excitement of meeting with all the members on sessions and discussions, especially breakout room activities where I got a chance to know about each person more precisely. Sir Anis rants and some thought-provoking advice, his face while asking some stupid questions. Ma’am Iqra’s beautiful smile and her positive energy, and her efforts for us. It never felt like we never knew anyone; it felt like we have been knowing each other for years and yet not at the same time.

Every journey comes to its end, but I hope this is the beginning of something new for all of us. Thank you, everyone, for making my time worth a while.
