We all started our mega project by analyzing the problems that we see in our society. While many people have faced huge losses in this pandemic, many have suffered even more in our community. Therefore, we tried to fill a gap by helping the local vendors who lacked skills and resources by increasing their customer base through social media. We have also decided to help deprived members of our society by donating some profit percent to them.

PROBLEM :

1. In Pakistan, especially in Karachi, uncertain conditions like Encroachment, Strike in cities, conflicts between traders, and most recently, due to Covid-19, Lockdown has affected local retailers’ sales.

According to a survey conducted by GFK, Managing operational costs is a prevalent and significant issue for retailers.

According to another Survey, 51% were able to find alternative solutions to continue their business.

However, a significant number of 43% had nothing except waiting for the Government’s call to remove Lockdown because they did not know alternative solutions for Ecommerce platforms.

2. Another social impact we are targeting on as we have seen various social issues faced by a deprived members of society. So we have decided to donate our semi-annual profit to the Edhi Foundation.

THE OBJECTIVE OF OUR BUSINESS :

Since the use of the internet got a massive boost in recent years, the e-commerce industry is booming globally, and Pakistan continuously records the rise in online shopping. To improve these local retailers’ sales, we are working as a third party to provide them with an online setup for their business to increase their market reach and sell products to comparatively more customers quickly.

BUSINESS PLAN :

VISION :

“Enabling Vendors to earn from an online business platform”.

MISSION :

“To make our vendors prosper through online selling platforms and setting up a valuable online platform for the customers where they can buy authentic products easily.”

Miss Shop is an online startup that sells fashionable clothing for women, providing stylish and quality clothing options. We are starting by creating our page on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Initially, we are introducing Abayas and scarves for ladies in Karachi.

Amal fellows of circle one decided to target the vendor to give them a helping hand by providing them social media platform.

We have decided to set up our online page on Facebook and Instagram pages to advertise the product of the local vendor there. We will be using an Online Delivery service named ‘BYKEA’ for delivering ordered goods to customers at their doorstep. The procedure would be simple; when we will get 5+ orders, we will hire ‘BYKEA’ to deliver the products from vendors to customers.

The impact we will create from this project will start initially on a small scale as we are eight members in a group to reach out to our families and friends. For modification in the project, we will create a Google feedback form, which will help us strategize the next plan to expand our business.

By practising entrepreneurship, we seek to make a social change by sharing some portion of the profit margin to charity organizations and ultimately helping local vendors by increasing their sales.

BUSINESS MODEL CANVAS OF OUR BUSINESS :

JOURNEY WE HAVE COMPLETED SO FAR:

Setting up an online business platform for a small scale retailer is considered difficult to give a practical implementation. We all did a lot of discussions and finally decided our target area, and then we tried to approach a lot of vendors. We tried to talk to them, but some were very reluctant as they thought we were trying to steal their business. Still, some of them were flexible and listen to our idea. As they were initially hesitant and feared that they might be left behind than others due to the lack of skills and resources due to the current situation. We comforted and counselled them on how it would benefit them. Different articles stated that local vendors had suffered a loss that will not be recovered till the next year.

After a lot of persuasions, and almost talking to 20–30 vendors in the market. We finally convinced the vendor to work with us. Asif Bhai owns a small shop for ladies, Abayas, and Scarves. As he is educated enough to digest all this ‘Online Platform’ plan, he decided to listen to our whole idea. We convinced him that he may sell more items Online as compared to in-person selling.

After delivering up all ideas, Salman asked Asif Bhai to capture images of his products. He asked us for a day so he can display things accordingly. The next day Salman and Wasiq, along with the photographer, went and captured his goods. Now we have all the edited and ready to post images of all the samples which are around 33–35. In a day or two, we will get all the products’ prices from the retailer, and then we will post our first advertisement.

SUMMARY :

Salman and Wasiq visited the vendors and tried to convince them, and finally, now we have one vendor. Now we have all the edited and ready to post images of all the products around. In a day or two, we will be ready to post our first advertisement for our product selling.

OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS :

We have made our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram. These are the two platforms we will be using so far. We also have distributed the work accordingly: Salman and Wasiq will handle the responsibilities such as vendor visits. Atifa and Muneeba will manage the Facebook page. Warda and Barirah will be responsible for Instagram. Babar is going to manage the hirings of riders. Some other responsibilities shared by our group members are like Wasiq is in charge of making attractive posters, and Babar is responsible for logo making. Every member is doing their best to make our mega project an amazing one.

FUTURE PLANS :

1. We aspire to reach out to more local retailers with quality products. We need an online platform to launch a perfect women's wear.

2. We plan to make a perfect website from where customers can directly buy the product.

3. We will increase our target market to other countries’ geographical locations once we see that customers are approaching from different provinces.

4. We also plan to advertise our brand in such an attractive manner that people will gain trust that we will provide them with value-added goods.

Earning customer’s trust & loyalty will be crucial in the start, and once we’ve earned that, it will help us grow a lot. Our goal is to create a customer base so that we can help out our vendors.
